As a deacon at First United Methodist of Mer Rouge, Hassell Clark had keys that allowed him to enter the sanctuary during off-hours, of which there were many, and record the sound of various settings on the church organ--usually single notes and sustained chords--which he would later edit and manipulate extensively in his home studio, resulting in impressionistic pieces like this one.
